Hello Michelle,

Our children are our greatest treasure - losing one is our greatest loss. Bob and I send our condolences to you and your family for the loss of your daughter. Thank you for letting us know the sunset we captured held a special meaning for you. Your comment serves as a reminder that even the smallest things we do in life can have an impact that reaches far beyond what we imagine possible.

May God Bless you and your family.

All the best,

Pat and Bob Patten

Hello Pat and Bob

I wanted to let you know how much your Sunset on May 3rd, 2012 made my day to watch on your video. My 18 year old daughter passed away on October 15, 2011 and May 3rd, 2012 we were at her grave celebrating her 19th birthday with her...and I feel it was the most beautiful and lovely sign she sent to me that on that same day - You and your husband were watching an amazing sunset at the beach. My daughter's favorite place other than Disneyland was being at the Beach.

I will forever be grateful that you captured such a blessed moment in time for me and my family...
Blessings, Michelle

Hi Denise,

Our apologies for the delay in responding to your comments, but we have been on the road for the past week. Please see Bob's reply below.

Pat

Hi Denise,

Thanks for your comments. Characterizing a volcano, which hasn't erupted for 11,000 years, as being "boring compared with Vesuvius" is merely my silly joke which still makes me smile. I am easily amused. Perhaps my British sense of humor is too dry, so please forgive me. However my article as a whole is overwhelmingly positive about Rocky Point. The article does nothing but praise the town until its final sentences, which do indeed contain some criticism. You do not attempt dispute the facts upon which that limited criticism is based.

Your suggestion that Rocky Point "doesn't want to be Cancun" and that what I say about its ambitions is "totally false" must be balanced against the town's efforts to attract commercial airline services and cruise ships. The city fathers are clearly ambitious and there's nothing wrong with that. Many resorts envy Cancun and would like to compete with it. It would be interesting to read about the town's long term goals. In any event, you clearly love the town and we hope that it develops as you would wish. Thanks again for sending us a comment which adds spice to our website.
